Martin Walshe

Martin Walsh was a notable bass player on both the Irish Jazz and Classical music scene. He performed regularly with the Noel Kelehan Quintet in the 1960s and Louis Stewart in the 1970s. He also played with other jazz musicians like, John Wadham, and Ian Henry. Martin was part of the NoelKelehan Quintet in the late 1960s, and the "For Moderns" group, which included Brian Hopper, John Wadham, and Rick Walsh. He was also the Principal Double bassist for the RTE Concert Orchestra. Martin played on Louis Stewart's debut leader album, Louis the First, released in 1976. He died in 2018.
