Louis Stewart's I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU
Louis Stewart’s I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU

I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU was recorded when Louis was working in Ronnie Scott’s band, as was John Taylor, coinciding with Cedar Walton’s quartet performance at the club. Louis was so enthralled by Cedar’s bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Billy Higgins, that he invited them to record with him, along with John Taylor.

Originally recorded in 1977, and released in 1980 with some edits and overdubs, this impeccable version restores the original London recording and adds two extra tracks.

The results are possibly the best Louis Stewart studio recording, with top level accompaniment from the brilliant supporting trio.

Includes a 16-page booklet with detailed sleeve notes and great photographs.

NO, I don’t have the newly remastered cd yet, but some years ago I managed to buy at least the CD without any artwork at ebay after years of searching for this gem.
Thanks to Livia many more aficionados of great guitar artistry will be able to listen to this MASTERPIECE. Can’t await to get my copy, the bonus tracks, the artwork!
BIG THANKS to LIVIA for keeping Louis’ memory aLIVe!
Frustrating, that so many other great jazz guitar albums of other artists (Harry Leahey, Cal Collins…) most likely will never see a digital release…
